πŸ’œ Career Well-being: Stay, Pivot, or Leave? How to decide your next move.

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:

  • Don't set career resolutions until you do this.
  • "Thrilled to announce..." (and how to cope when it's not you)
  • LinkedIn Live Event TONIGHT!

I don't know about you, but I love using December to reflect on my life and career. It's not only because it is my birthday month, but also because it's essential to take a step back and figure out where you are and if the path aligns with your goals.

When we are busy juggling multiple things, it's very easy to go on autopilot, not realizing why we feel dragged by our work, why we feel like we don't have time for our hobbies and interests, and many other whys that we know we need to address, but keep putting them off.

So, this week, I wanted to give you some questions to ask yourself this month, and use your answers to help you set yourself up for success in 2026.

πŸ’‘ Don't set career resolutions until you do this.

Most of us spend December dreading our corporate performance review. We worry about how the company will grade us, how our boss perceives our output, and if we hit our KPIs.

But this year, I want you to flip the script.

Instead of waiting passively to be graded, I want you to conduct a "Reverse Performance Review."

It is time to grade your company, your role, and your current trajectory. But before you can set resolutions or update your resume, you need clarity.

How do you know if you are just having a tough month or if you are in the wrong role? Start by looking for Green Flags.

Here are two indicators that you might be in the right place, even if it’s hard right now:

  • The Challenges Energize You (Not Drain You): Pay attention to how you feel after a hard problem is solved. Do you feel a sense of "good tired," satisfied, and accomplished? Or do you feel depleted and hollow? A role that fuels you is a win, even if it comes with bad days.
  • Your Job Supports Your Life (Not Just Your Bills): Does this role allow you to be the parent, partner, or person you want to be? Sometimes, the "right role" isn't the one with the flashiest title; it's the one that builds your dream life.

If you can't check these boxes or feel a specific kind of friction, it’s time to dig deeper.

You have earned the agency to make choices about your career. Don’t let another year just "happen" to you.

πŸ’» "Thrilled to announce..." (and how to cope when it's not you)

In case you missed last week's article, I discussed Staying Grateful in a Slow Job Search and During Times of Uncertainty. Tired of seeing the "thrilled to announce..." posts when your inbox is silent? A slow job search is frustrating. You can't control when a recruiter replies. But you can control your own sense of progress and protect your peace. This article offers a practical strategy to build resilience for what is often a marathon, not a sprint.
